MEIL – Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Project Electrical Installation, Testing & Commissioning
Comprehensive installation, testing, and commissioning of high-capacity electrical systems for the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Project with MEIL.Includes synchronous motors, 11 kV switchgear, excitation systems, cabling, and associated MS fabrication works.

Project Information
The Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Project, executed in collaboration with MEIL, represents a major infrastructure initiative aimed at strengthening water management and irrigation capabilities. The scope of work involved comprehensive electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities to support high-capacity pumping operations essential for reliable water transfer. This project was carried out with strict adherence to technical standards, safety norms, and quality assurance procedures to ensure long-term operational reliability.
A key component of the project was the installation, testing, and commissioning of 4.7 MW synchronous motors, which form the backbone of the high-power pumping system. These motors were integrated with advanced excitation panels and soft starters to ensure smooth starting, stable operation, and protection against electrical and mechanical stresses. In addition, 11 kV vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) panels were installed and commissioned to provide efficient switching, fault isolation, and system protection under varying load conditions.
The electrical infrastructure also included the laying of 11 kV 630 sq.mm single-core cables and 11 kV three-core cables, executed with precision to maintain electrical integrity and minimize losses. All associated end terminations were carried out using approved methods and materials to ensure safe and reliable connections. Extensive fabrication works using mild steel were undertaken to support equipment mounting, cable routing, and overall system layout.
Cable management was further enhanced through the fabrication and fixing of robust cable trays, ensuring orderly routing, ease of maintenance, and improved safety across the installation. Each stage of the work—from installation to final commissioning—was systematically tested to verify performance, protection coordination, and compliance with project specifications. The successful completion of this project reflects strong engineering expertise and contributes significantly to the dependable operation of the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme.
